Precious Visitor!

Kim calls our deck "the ark" because of all the wildlife that visits - usually at night. We leave treats for them and word gets around in the woods apparently! I was suprised to see this little raccoon show up in the afternoon a few days ago. We've named him "Cookie" (his mom - we guess - is called Cupcake) and he's actually looking through the glass door at me. Again, the best camera is the one that's with you, so this is an iPhone photo!

That is one cute, inquisitive face!

Isn't it! He wonders where the cookies are, I suspect! The mom (we think) first got a treat of a cupcake. We had just made some and they weren't frosted yet so I opened the door and she (we think) took it from my hand. This one is smaller so we call him (or her) cookie!

Hi Donna

My brother lives in Toronto and he occasionally gets a raccoon coming into the kitchen if something good is cooking! We get foxes in the garden here in Kent. I always know when one is around...they look lovely but smell really bad :)

Hugs

Sue

I expect Cupcake and cookie would come in if they could! I'm fascinated to hear that foxes smell bad! We don't have any around but do have deer who use my garden as a salad bar! Nature is so marvelous!

Oh, and I forgot to mention! We have a possum we call Flully that loves the treats we leave. I suppose the correct name is opossum. This one's a cutie! Now that I think of it, it could be more than one that comes at different times.
