Moon Flower, Moon Flower....

Wasn't that a line in a song?? This is my first time growing the gorgeous Moon Flower - thanks to friend and very excellent potter, Lynne, who gave us a seedling earlier in the summer. As the name suggests, it blooms by the moonlight and one has to remember to look! After I saw some petals of a spent flower on the ground which would have been the morning after it's blooming, I began the night watch! Following an couple of unsuccessful night photography attempt with extended shutter speeds (never use the flash!) last night's offering to the moon came early as the sky was overcast. I must tell you, the fragrance is as heavenly as the brilliant bloom!  Thanks Lynne! and thanks to Nature's gift!

Just beautiful, Donna. I started a painting of morning glories, I hope it turns out. I've never seen or experienced the fragrance of the moon flower. Nice picture.

Thanks! I hope your morning glories do well and that they re-seed! The moon flower is spectacular - if you're up to see it! Glad you like the photo!
