Show Day!!

The summer online show is today! I wish I could show you my bears and bunnies, but I can't do that until the show starts! So............ I thought I'd show you some flowers in my front yard! This is the view my mail carrier has as she deposits mail in the post box. Besides my deck, this is the sunniest spot in the yard, so I have as many sun lovers in that spot as I can crowd in!

In the meantime, does anyone know what this is??

Kim found it on a walk yesterday. It looks like a lovely fairy dancer! I've put in a photo with my hand so that you can see the relative size. Isn't it amazing???

Be sure to check back at 4 p.m. EDT to see my little ones and for a link to the show!!

It looks a bit like a Passion Flower, but the only ones of those I have seen in the UK are green.

Thank you Polly! Aren't they lovely! They don't last long as this one is already shriveled.

Well Polly, you are right! Kim searched and found it is a purple passion vine. Thanks for the direction of inquiry!! and thanks for sharing!!

Hi Donna~ It definitely is a purple passion flower. I have a beautiful plant on my lanai and it has been producing some very lovely flowers just like it. When it blooms it's magnificent, but it only lasts but a mere few hours and then shrivels up and falls off the vine :(

Thanks, Sandy! Isn't it an amazing flower! The first one Kim found did just as you reported and was shriveled before we could photograph it. This one is growing "in the wild" so must be hardy. How glorious nature can be!!
Thanks for writing!
Cheers!
