HAPPY EARTH DAY!!

What a glorious day it is here in southern Virginia! I celebrated Earth Day a little earlier and now have a metal "composter" for the kitchen. Fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, and tea bags will become treats for the flowers in the garden. I decided on the celebratory photo of the little strawberry flowers rather than the tin can, though, as it is a might more pleasing. Just think of all this little plant does: treats for us humans to eat as well as beauty in all parts of the plant to see - flowers, fruits, and a charming leaf, and a destination for the bees gathering pollen to take to the honey factory. In addition, if you look closely, a local spider seems to have spun in and amongst the leaves and stems to fulfill her life's work. What a gift this little strawberry is! Happy Earth Day!!!!!!!!!!
